Privacy policy

The short version

The extension runs no analytics, collects no personal data, and sends nothing about your browsing anywhere. The only network request it ever makes is a lookup to Google's public Chrome UX Report API for the website you are actively checking.

What the extension does

• When you click the toolbar icon, it measures Core Web Vitals (LCP, CLS, INP) of the page in the current tab, entirely inside your browser, using Google's open-source web-vitals library. Page content is never read, stored or transmitted.
• It sends the origin of the site you are checking (for example https://example.com, never the full page URL) to Google's Chrome UX Report API, to show what real visitors experience. This is the one and only request that leaves your browser.
• Your last five checks are kept in Chrome's session storage so you can compare sites. This history lives on your device and is erased when you close Chrome. You can also clear it any time from the extension's options page.

What the extension does not do

• No analytics or telemetry of any kind, inside the extension or injected into pages.
• No reading, storing or transmitting of page content, form data or browsing history.
• No accounts, no cookies, no fingerprinting, no advertising identifiers.
• No third-party services besides the Google Chrome UX Report API described above.

Permissions, explained

• activeTab / scripting — lets the measurement run on the tab you clicked the icon on, and only there, only then.
• storage — keeps your last five checks and your badge preference on your device.
• chromeuxreport.googleapis.com — the single host the extension may contact, for the field-data lookup.
